Valentine’s Day Guide For Lovers or BFFs

Alright, so this is one of those holidays that you either love or straight up hate. There’s no in between. I’m writing this post to satisfy those VDAY lovers, but I’ll keep it 100 for those haters, too.  Because, let’s be honest, it’s a cheesy holiday. Is it even a holiday? Whatever you want to call it, let’s get down to business.

However you find yourself spending Valentine’s Day, here are some fun things that you can do to celebrate February 14th. These things can be done with your boo, your bff, or your mom. Whatever floats your boat.

1. Glendale Chocolate Affaire

The 23rd Annual Glendale Chocolate Affaire will be held in Historic Downtown Glendale for three days, Feb. 9-11. Get your sweet tooth on and listen to live music. From their website, “Chocolate confections will include everything from chocolate-covered strawberries, chocolate-drizzled kettle corn, chocolate-covered nuts, berry chocolate kabobs, fudge popsicles, chocolate-covered cheesecake and bananas, fried Twinkies and fried Snickers dipped in chocolate.” Um heck yaaaaaa. Count me in. PS: Admission is FREE. #winning More Info

2. Arizona Beer Week

Thank goodness for beer. This might make the holiday a little better! Head over to participating breweries for Valentine’s Day inspired events. Visit their website below to see which places to make your reservations! If you feel like driving to Prescott on a Wednesday, there’s a donut and beer tasting going on at Granite Mountain Brewing. Can’t say I’m not tempted… More Info

3. Get bonus points: Book a reservation for dinner with a view.

In Arizona, the possibilities are endless for this one. Seriously pick any mountain and you’ll find a restaurant with a view. #cheatcodes

Examples: The Compass Arizona Grill or Different Pointe of View

4. Sunset Hike

The weather is seriously perfection right now, so take advantage of it before it becomes 120 degrees again. **sobbing into laptop**

5. Wine Tasting

If you’re like me, and you’re a total wino, you’ll definitely love this idea. Wine tasting is great, because you get to try 4-5 different wines and pretend like you can actually tell a difference between them. Does anyone actually swirl the wine around and smell something different every time? Wine smells like wine. I’m sorry. Maybe my nose is broken.

6. Save yourself the headache and stay in.

“But Deanne, that’s so boring” Well, my sweet friend, it doesn’t have to be!! You can grab your six pack of beer, buy 5 bottles of wine for your wine tasting, put on a RomCom, and grab a fuzzy blanket. Make some dessert and call it a day!

So, there you go! >> 6 reeeeally solid ideas for Valentine’s Day. Now you don’t have any excuses to do nothing! Grab your friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, mom, daughter, son, or dog. Hope you have a blast!

Pro Tip: Don’t be like Ryan.
